Benefits and Compensation
- Part Time with potential for full time employment.
- This position pays $18 – $22 per hour, depending on experience.
- Emergency service pay increase when applicable.
- Uniform shirts and all service equipment will be provided by AAT.
- A company vehicle or mileage reimbursement will be provided by AAT.
The applicant must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities without supervision. You must be self-motivated with a high degree of attention to detail, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be mechanically inclined. You must interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts, emphasizing company interests. You must be comfortable and proficient working independently and maintain the highest respect for our clients throughout New York and Connecticut.
Responsibilities:
You MUST have the ability to;
- Travel to job site.
- Perform maintenance services on established client aquariums.
- Perform water quality assessments.
- Perform health assessments on all living organisms within the aquarium.
- Perform water changes and filtration component cleaning.
- Assess the overall aquarium display and the LSS to ensure proper long-term operation.
- Install or replace lighting, replace ballasts, end caps, chillers, pumps, etc.
- Troubleshoot flow issues and water delivery issues.
- Perform cleaning and repairs to other water features (e.g., water walls, fountains, ponds).
- Perform data entry and accurate record keeping.
- Perform other duties assigned by management team.
You MUST have the ability to;
- Lift up to 75 lbs.
- Bend or twist your body to work in tight spaces.
Skills:
You MUST possess;
- Excellent organizational skills and a strong work ethic.
- Respect for client’s residence and space.
- Experience in all types of aquarium displays (reef, saltwater, freshwater live plants, etc.).
- Experience with growing corals.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to work on call and complete work requirements within 24 to 96 hours of requests.
- Experience in plumbing and working with PVC.
- Experience in plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of salt and freshwater aquatic systems.
- Knowledge of LSS and filtration systems.
- Maintain a good driving record and a valid driver’s license.
Education:
- Associate
- Growing Corals: 4 years
- SW Aquariums: 5 years
- Live Planted Freshwater Aquariums: 5 years
- Freshwater Aquariums: 6 years
- Aquarium Maintenance: 6 years
Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Good Driving Record
