Base pay range: $34,312.00/yr - $42,565.00/yr

Performs a variety of cleaning tasks in assigned areas.

Responsibilities include:

• Collects and empties trash and recycling in accordance with cleaning schedules.
• Cleans and/or removes hazardous or misplaced items, waste, and spills; disposes, transports, or places them in appropriate receptacles, following proper cleaning procedures.
• Assembles cleaning carts according to assigned tasks and prepares, mixes, and dilutes cleaning solutions following manufacturer directions.
• Washes floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions, and windows using mops, detergents, brushes, and other cleaning devices.
• Vacuums, strips, waxes floors, and shampoos carpets using manual or mechanical equipment.
• Scrubs and cleans showers and restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and drains, using hand-operated equipment and cleaning agents.
• Replaces light bulbs and dusts or washes light fixtures and high places, such as ceilings, using ladders, other appropriate equipment, and tools.
• Polishes wood and metal surfaces, fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
• Monitors cleaning supplies and equipment; notifies supervisor of supply levels, equipment malfunction, and maintenance issues observed during cleaning.
• Replaces, cleans, and/or hangs building fixtures and decorative items, such as curtains, blinds, and pictures.
• Moves and arranges furniture and equipment in connection with cleaning tasks or in preparation for meetings, events, and other activities.
• May be required to follow specialized disinfectant, waste disposal, and cleanliness standards; remove snow and salt from walkways; clean sidewalks, driveways, grounds; mow lawns; perform routine laundry tasks; and change bed linens.

• No education or experience requirements for this class.
• Cleaners must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

• Part‑time positions are available. Hours will vary depending on position and schedule.
• Salaries are pro‑rated for part‑time. Must be available on weekends and holidays.
