The Cleaner I (N) position provides dedicated overnight custodial coverage for McMahon Hall, a 24/7 residential facility at the Lincoln Center Campus. The position maintains sanitation and cleanliness across high-traffic residential spaces, including laundry facilities, elevators, common-area restrooms, event venues, and shared lounges. The role also supports waste management, routine floor and carpet maintenance, and building-specific operational requests.
Schedule:
Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Monday – Wednesday: 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Cleans and sanitizes dormitories, common areas, restrooms, laundry rooms, elevators, classrooms, event spaces, offices, and other assigned University spaces.
- Performs waste collection, removal, recycling, and replacement of waste receptacles as required.
- Performs routine floor and carpet cleaning and maintenance using appropriate custodial equipment.
- Cleans and maintains high-use and shared spaces to provide safe and sanitary conditions for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Operates custodial equipment, including floor machines, vacuums, power washers, and other cleaning equipment as assigned.
- Provides setup, relocation, and other custodial support for University operations and events as needed.
- Performs snow and ice removal, including shoveling and related winter-weather duties, as required.

Required Qualifications:Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Six (6) months to one year of prior cleaning experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Must be able to read English and follow written instructions.
- Knowledge of general cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance, including standard use of power washers, stand‑up vacuums, and backpack vacuums.
- Knowledge of effective and safe usage of all floor machines.
- Knowledge of handheld tools.
