Project FIND’s mission is to provide low- and moderate-income and homeless seniors with the services and support they need to enrich their lives and live independently. Today Project FIND operates three supportive housing residences that are home to about 600 people and four senior centers with over 3,000 members. Our members and residents range from the healthy and active to the frail and homebound to the homeless.

For all these individuals, Project FIND is a critical resource, providing housing, meals, and programs that help individuals navigate the challenges of aging by encouraging community engagement and healthy living.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Junior Handyperson is responsible for building maintenance, repairs, and preventive care across Project FIND’s residential and administrative sites. This is a multi-site role based out of the Main Office, with regular assignments across Project FIND’s portfolio of buildings. Responsibilities include cross-site work order completion, office space optimization and reconfiguration, and general building and grounds upkeep in support of both staff operations and resident services.

Responsibilities

Completes cross-site work orders across Project FIND’s portfolio of buildings, traveling to assigned locations as directed and reporting to the direct supervisor upon arrival at each site.

  • Assists with office space optimization projects, including furniture reconfiguration, layout planning support, and setup for new or renovated work spaces.

  • Prepares rooms for painting, paints rooms and bathrooms
  • Helps to make rooms move in ready.
  • Maintains kitchen inventory by monitoring supply levels, restocking as needed, and communicating shortages to the direct supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for mail and package pickup; ensures all deliveries are received, logged, and distributed to the appropriate staff or departments in a timely manner.
  • When assignment at any site, must report to their direct supervisor upon arrival and check in for all tasks, updates, and work order items before beginning work.
Requirements Qualifications
  • Basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical knowledge.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to safely use common power and hand tools
  • The ideal candidate will be skilled in a wide range of areas but will also be able to recognize when a repair is outside of their skill set and make a recommendation to their supervisor.
