Mad Hotel is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team. This position is responsible for maintaining the hotel's physical plant, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to ensure a safe, comfortable, and exceptional guest experience.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on professional with experience in hotel, commercial, or residential building maintenance who can effectively troubleshoot and repair building systems while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and service.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering
, the Maintenance Engineer plays a key role in preserving the condition, appearance, and functionality of the property while supporting daily hotel operations.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout guest rooms, corridors, public spaces, meeting areas, and back‑of‑house locations.
- Respond promptly to guest service requests and maintenance work orders.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and mechanical systems.
- Repair and maintain doors, locks, windows, furniture, fixtures, and finishes.
- Perform interior painting projects, including surface preparation, patching drywall, skim coating, sanding, priming, and finish painting.
- Maintain guest room and public area appearance through touch‑up painting and cosmetic repairs.
- Repair wall surfaces, ceilings, woodwork, trim, and other finishes to ensure the hotel consistently meets luxury hospitality presentation standards.
- Complete preventive maintenance assignments according to established schedules.
- Assist with the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of:
- HVAC systems
- Boilers and hot water systems
- Domestic water systems
- Pumps and motors
- Conduct inspections to identify operational issues and potential hazards.
- Report major repair needs and equipment deficiencies to Engineering leadership.
- Comply with all OSHA, local, state, and company safety standards.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and property safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with hotel, brand, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, and other hotel departments to address maintenance needs.
- Support hotel projects and capital improvement initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of engineering tools, equipment, and supplies.
