Position: MAINTENANCE STAFF
Location: New York

Salary: $17.00-$18.00 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalency.
One year of general facility maintenance experience.
Basic computer skills required to maintain electronic work order tracking systems.
NYS Valid Driver's License.

Job Summary:

In alignment with FLACRA's mission, vision, and values, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs at all FLACRA facilities and sites. The following duties are illustrative of the responsibilities for this role:

General Duties:

Receives and responds to oral and computerized work orders (via Spice Works) from the Facility/Property Manager.

Performs repairs in carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

Completes work according to standard procedures and facility schedules.

Provides building coverage during evenings and weekends as required.

Participates in the on-call maintenance rotation, including lockouts if necessary.

Performs painting, both touch-ups and finishing.

Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, stairways, and windows as directed by the Facility/Property Manager.

Uses hand and power tools to complete minor maintenance tasks and maintain grounds, including snow removal from walkways, lawn mowing, bush trimming, and debris removal.

Sweeps, mops, strips, and waxes floors using appropriate equipment.

Vacuums and/or shampoos carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, and blinds.

Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills.

Replaces light bulbs, which may require the use of ladders.

Sets up and tears down chairs, tables, and equipment for meetings and events.

Delivers supplies and materials to programs as necessary (though the majority are shipped directly to program locations).

Opens and closes buildings in accordance with security protocols, including responding to lockout calls if needed.

Provides assistance to staff, visitors, and other employees as needed.

Reports completed tasks orally or via written work orders to the Facility/Property Manager.

Adheres to all safety rules and procedures.

Physical Requirements and

Working Conditions:

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, or crouch as required to perform job duties, including walking for up to 6 hours per day.
Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
Ability to climb ladders to perform certain tasks.

Other Skills/Knowledge and

Experience:

Previous experience in building maintenance and cleaning work is required.

Ability to follow detailed but straightforward oral and written instructions.

Ability to interact with officials, staff, and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
