Painter

The painter is responsible for performing all work necessary to keep the hotel’s walls, ceilings, and floor finish in excellent conditions.

• Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers while maintaining property color scheme specifications
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats
• Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting
• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs
• Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas
• Coordinate with vendors to modify colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil, thinning, and drying additives to obtain desired colors and consistencies
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
• Ensure that all flammable materials are stored in OSHA and EPA approved containment devices
• Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests using brand or property specific process to resolve issues, and build trust
• Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible
• Speak to guests and co-workers using clear, appropriate, and professional language
• Exchange information with other team members using electronic devices
• Additional duties as assigned by management

• Technical, Trade, or Vocational school degree or equivalent work-related experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to push and pull carts and equipment
• Ability to bend, squat and lift up to 75 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility
• Ability to multi-task
• An aptitude for self-motivation
• A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach
• A flexible schedule that allows availability days, nights, holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel
