At NYCANNA, LLC, DBA THE BOTANIST—part of Canopy USA, LLC—you’ll help keep our Syracuse cultivation facility running smoothly. Canopy USA unites well-known cannabis brands and operators—Wana, Jetty, and Acreage—unlocking efficiencies across key categories like flower (Superflux), vapes and concentrates (Jetty), edibles and beverages (Wana), and retail (The Botanist). With a growing presence across Midwestern and Northeastern markets, we’re building an agile organization poised for scale.

A day in the life

As our Facilities Technician, you’ll be the on-the-ground problem-solver who keeps systems humming and spaces spotless. You’ll start your day with a walkthrough of critical areas, tackle high-priority maintenance tickets, and collaborate closely with the Facilities Manager, vendors, and contractors to deliver safe, timely repairs.

Own daily sanitation across restrooms, hallways, break spaces, and exterior areas.

Restock PPE, trash receptacles, and restroom supplies throughout the building.

Complete minor building and equipment repairs (grow lights, fans, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and more).Support major repairs under the Facilities Manager, coordinating with licensed trades as needed—including emergency fixes.

Install and commission new equipment (e.g., racks, dehumidifiers) safely and efficiently.

Troubleshoot issues across electrical, structural, plumbing, and facility equipment.

Follow preventive maintenance schedules and close work orders on time.

When work requires outside expertise, schedule contractors—and learn from them to reduce future outsourcing.

Pitch in as needed: light custodial tasks (yes, even shoveling snow) and washing/sorting employee uniforms daily to ensure clean gear for every shift.

Administrative excellence

Maintain accurate logs for repairs, cleaning, maintenance, and calibrations.

Immediately elevate system failures or damage to the Facilities Manager.

Complete daily/weekly/monthly equipment checklists and follow facility SOPs.Champion safety and biosafety programs, regulatory compliance, and a spotless production floor.

What you bring

High school diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2+ years in building/mechanical maintenance preferred.

Hands-on knowledge across trades: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, tile, and general repairs—or equivalent training/experience.

Experience in cannabis or another highly regulated industry strongly preferred.

Proven flexibility and willingness to take on new projects.

Core skills
