Head of Strategy and Deals – Initio Capital

Position Overview

The Head of Strategy and Deals will lead and manage all strategic initiatives and transactions, including mergers, acquisitions (M&A), partnerships, and other deal-making activities at Initio Capital. This senior leadership role will require a deep understanding of corporate strategy, financial modeling, and market analysis to guide the company’s expansion and investment strategies. You will work closely with senior executives, product teams, finance, and external stakeholders to assess market opportunities and deliver high-value business deals that align with the company’s long-term vision.

Key

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Oversee and drive the development and execution of the company’s strategic initiatives, including corporate growth, expansion opportunities, and capital investment strategies.

M&A and Deal Structuring: Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic partnerships.

Due Diligence and Risk Assessment: Manage complex due diligence processes, including financial, operational, market, and legal assessments, to evaluate potential deals and partnerships.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with senior leadership across business units to ensure alignment of strategies and successful integration of strategic initiatives.

Financial Modeling and Valuation: Develop and assess financial models, valuations, and forecasts to guide investment decisions and strategic recommendations.

Transaction Oversight: Lead negotiations and manage the transaction structuring process for large-scale deals, including post-deal integration planning and execution.

Market and Competitive Analysis: Lead efforts in market mapping, competitive assessments, and the identification of emerging market trends to inform strategy and deal opportunities.

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of strategy and deal professionals, fostering collaboration and ensuring the delivery of high-impact business strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience: 8+ years of experience in corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity, M&A advisory, or a similar high-level transactional role. Experience in leading large-scale deals and working directly with executive teams.

Strategic Expertise: Deep understanding of corporate strategy development, financial valuation, and M&A processes.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage senior stakeholder relationships, and communicate strategic decisions clearly.

Strong Analytical Capabilities: Excellent financial modeling, business analysis, and problem-solving skills with an ability to understand complex data and make data-driven decisions.

Negotiation Expertise: Strong track record of leading and negotiating large deals, contracts, and strategic partnerships.

Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the capability to present complex ideas to senior management and external partners.
