The Financial Operations Manager will be a critical member of the firm’s leadership team, initially focused on finance and operational management with a clear path toward a broader business management/COO role. This position reports directly to the firm’s leadership and will take ownership of key financial and operational processes while shaping long-term firm strategy.
Key responsibilities include:- Manage client billing, invoicing, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition.
- Lead internal financial reporting, monthly closes, budgeting, forecasting, and approval processes.
- Oversee operational efficiency initiatives, including process improvements in expense management and firmwide workflows.
- Coordinate year-end financial statements prepared by external accountants and support tax preparation, filings, and R&D credit submissions.
- Manage U.S. logistics and compliance for international employees, including visa documentation and tax coordination.
- Oversee vendor payments, purchase orders, and all contractor engagements.
- Manage firm contracts, NDAs, and vendor agreements, ensuring regulatory and confidentiality compliance.
- Serve as a trusted partner to leadership on strategic initiatives and long-term operational planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a strong public or private university.
- 3–6 years of experience in finance, accounting, and operations, ideally at a small- to mid-sized professional services or boutique firm.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and taxation.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software; experience with internal financial systems a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, discretion, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of broad responsibilities and grow into a senior operational leadership role.
- Take ownership of the firm’s finance and operations function while building a path toward COO-level leadership.
- Work directly with firm leadership and have broad visibility across all aspects of the business.
- Play a central role in shaping internal processes, operational efficiency, and strategic growth.
