Job Overview

AM Glass Inc is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of commercial glazing and ornamental metal projects throughout New York City. This role is ideal for a construction professional with metal and glass industry experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to grow within a respected NYC glazing contractor.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will work closely with Project Managers, field teams, vendors, and general contractors to ensure projects remain organized, on schedule, and within budget while upholding AM Glass Inc’s standards for quality and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Attend project kickoff meetings and assist in organizing project setup documentation.
  • Gather, prepare, and track submittals for new and ongoing projects.
  • Communicate with the AM team using  to ensure alignment across departments.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date project files in accordance with AM Office Standards.
  • Assist Project Managers in monitoring budgets and flag potential cost issues.
  • Support the management of multiple active projects with varying scopes and deadlines.
  • Review and redline shop drawings for internal markups and coordination.
  • Assist with material takeoffs, order entry, tracking, and vendor coordination.
  • Issue and track Purchase Orders (POs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Prepare and submit project close-out documentation.
  • Coordinate with field teams and visit job sites as needed to understand site conditions and progress.
  • Uphold safety and quality standards across all project phases.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Metal & Glass Industry preferred.
  • Prior experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Excel, and Procore required.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings, architectural plans, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience reviewing and redlining shop drawings.
  • Knowledge of metal and glazing materials, tools, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and assisting with project budgets.
  • Familiarity with issuing POs, RFIs, and performing material takeoffs.
  • Construction site experience with general knowledge of site safety practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Ability to commute to New York, NY required.

Schedule

Full-Time

Monday through Friday

Standard business hours; additional time may be required based on project deadlines

Work Location

On-site in New York City, NY

Local travel to project sites throughout NYC required
