The Vice President, Client Operations oversees the Project Management, Leasing and Closing, and Compliance functions, ensuring these teams operate efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with company standards and client expectations. This role partners closely with senior leadership to translate strategy into execution, drive accountability across functions, and build scalable operational infrastructure. The Vice President, Client Operations is also responsible for overseeing siloed rental operations, including work orders, inspections, AR and Legal coordination, compliance, and leasing, as well as providing oversight of the operations & transitions function.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct oversight and leadership for the Project Management, Leasing and Closing, and Compliance departments
- Ensure clear ownership, workflows, and handoffs across all three functions
- Develop, document, and enforce standard operating procedures and best practices
- Partner with department leaders to set goals, track performance, and address gaps
- Monitor KPIs related to project timelines, leasing and closing velocity, compliance adherence, and risk mitigation
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements
- Serve as a point of escalation for complex operational issues across all siloed departments
- Ensure regulatory, legal, and internal compliance standards are consistently met
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management in partnership with People Operations
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and special projects as needed
- Ensure smooth collaboration between siloed functions and property management team
- 7+ years of experience in client operations in the property management industry, or a related leadership role
- Experience overseeing project management, leasing/closings, transitions, and compliance functions preferred
- Strong understanding of NYC real estate operations and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to build and scale operational processes
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and data-driven
- Project management, leasing and closing, Transitions, compliance teams and other siloed functions are operating with clarity and accountability
- Consistent, documented processes that reduce risk and improve efficiency
- Fewer escalations due to proactive oversight and clear standards
- Scalable operations that support portfolio and company growth
