Job RequirementsICR, a leading corporate communications firm with a large, industry leading practice in the consumer sector, is seeking a SVP/VP to oversee/manage accounts and account teams and provide superior client counsel to companies in industry sectors that include consumer, restaurants, retail, direct-to-consumer and healthy living. Top tier media relations will be a priority for this role, focused primarily on national business outlets.
This role sits within the Corporate PR team, with regular coordination with Consumer PR.
This senior role serves as a primary day-to-day client leader, develops strategic PR recommendations and programming, and drives the team’s execution of plans and campaigns to exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate is highly proactive and able to work independently while effectively managing teams and generating client confidence. This individual will also be involved in pursuing and securing the significant amount of new business activity the firm enjoys.
ICR is a “hands‑on” environment where senior team members oversee multiple accounts and also actively execute PR strategies on behalf of clients. With the firm’s dominance in the investor relations space, it is important for PR team members to have a solid grounding in financial communications and the ability to work closely with IR colleagues.
Responsibilities- Provide senior level counsel to C‑suite executives across a broad range of industries including retail and restaurants
- Execute on top tier media outreach, maintaining strong relationships with key industry outlets and reporters. Sharp eye for developing profile opportunities and leverage industry trends to gain client results.
- Manage crisis response scenarios, ranging from localized issues to large‑scale national issues that have attracted significant media attention
- Assist in managing, leading and mentoring PR team
- Lead, manage and grow existing and new business opportunities in response to internally driven opportunities as well as pro‑active independently driven new business prospects.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Significant experience counseling public company C‑suite executives.
- Proven track record of securing top tier media placements.
- Strong understanding of the capital markets and public company financial communications.
- Experience in crisis and transaction communications would be a plus.
- Track record of sourcing and securing new business
- Experience in mentoring and coaching a team in a fast‑pace, evolving environment.
- Savvy, smart, efficient, fast‑working, results‑oriented leader with good intuition for problem solving and issues management.
- Ability to thrive in entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum of 10 years corporate communications/financial PR agency experience.
