Are you an Accounting professional, currently working in practice ready for a move to a Director role? International professional services firm is seeking an Accounting and Advisory Director in its Guildford office. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who is currently a Senior Manager or Director in a reputable Accountancy firm. As a Director, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored advisory services, driving business development, and building lasting client relationships.

You will be at the forefront of understanding the unique needs of private business owners, offering strategic guidance, and enabling their long-term success.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services for a diverse portfolio of privately owned and growing businesses.
  • Managing complex projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and commercial success, with effective resource planning and briefing of team members to deliver projects for the firm.
  • Actively contributing to the professional development of team members, promoting a culture of excellence through coaching, mentoring, and growth initiatives.
  • Supporting the team and firm's growth through business development activities in London and the Surrey market, identifying opportunities, introducing new clients, and working alongside other service lines as part of multi-service line pitches.
  • Actively contributing to the firm's Industry groups (based on your sector preference) and generating industry specific content to distribute to clients and prospects.
Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Extensive experience managing client portfolios within professional practice and a track record of winning new assignments and projects.
  • Specialisms in UK GAAP, possibly with a sector specific focus.
  • Experience as a line manager, with advanced coaching and development skills.
  • Proven expertise in financial reporting, statutory accounts, and advisory for privately owned businesses, including preparation of year‑end statutory accounts in line with the firm's guidelines.
  • Strategic business development experience, including lead generation, multi-service line pitches, and supporting proposals to new clients.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost management, project delivery, and managing working capital, billing, and debt recoverability for complex projects.
