Hiring for: Project Coordinator
Reports to: Project Manager
Serves on: Adk Action Project Team

Location:

Keeseville, New York at least 2-3 days per week, and 2-3 days per week hybrid remote

Purpose: The Adk Action Project Coordinator supports the implementation of Adk Action’s projects by managing day-to-day operations, coordinating partners and staff, and ensuring deliverables meet defined goals, standard approaches, and timelines. This role is innovative and interdisciplinary, working as a team with other Project staff to excellently coordinate and manage projects from broadband access to long term rental availability, food security for all, road salt reduction, and many more.

The right person will have a passion for both community development and ecosystem conservation in the Adirondacks, with a desire to test and develop new strategies and tools to make a difference in the lives of many here. This position reports to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Creating New Projects

  • With the support of the Project Manager, implement newly designed projects and pilot initiatives, including assisting with scoping, setup, and early execution

Implementing Projects

  • Assist in drafting and executing upon project strategic plans and annual project work plans
  • Work within external project partner relationships to create stronger outcomes and a positive public image.
  • Collaborate with all project staff and seasonal project staff
  • Supervisor and coordinate the work of seasonal staff as appropriate and support adherence to established Adk Action standard operating procedures
  • Execute day-to-day project operations in alignment with all strategic goals and working norms.
  • Support the creation of project-related components in future organizational strategic plans, and the implementation of those project components in the years to come

Project Fundraising and Financial Management

  • With the support of the Project Manager, serve as a member of the grants team, with the ability to help identify, write and edit grant applications or portions of applications,
  • Work with Operations staff on reimbursement and reporting related processes
  • Implement and track grant deliverables, annual project budgets, and participate as needed in the annual organizational budgeting process.
  • Attend or assist with individual donor visits/engagement by serving as project representative as needed.
  • Attend or assist with Adk Action fundraising/friend raising events as needed.

Measuring Progress

  • Regularly assess, measure, and share progress toward project via qualitative and quantitative data gathering and analysis, and make adjustments as needed based on results and feedback
  • Share frequent evaluations of our projects’ performance and recommend next steps or areas for input.

Serve as a leader of Adk Action

  • Attend, help prepare for, and assist in leading Adk Action-led project meetings and represent Adk Action in meetings with partners and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with giving public presentations as appropriate about Adk Action’s work across projects.
  • Find opportunities to communicate Adk Action’s impact to our members and our broader service area.
  • Help our board and fellow staff tell meaningful project stories and convey our impact out to the region.
  • Assist in preparing reports for board and key strategy meetings as necessary.
