Uncle Giuseppes Marketplace is seeking a Full-Time Produce Manager to lead our high-quality Produce Department in our Port Washington store! What You’ll Do:- Lead and manage the daily operations of the Produce Department, including hiring, training, and supervising staff
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and product returns
- Monitor inventory levels and recommend purchase orders to keep shelves fully stocked
- Train staff in store policies, procedures, and excellent customer service techniques
- Analyze sales data, conduct audits, and make recommendations to improve department performance
- Maintain high-quality displays and ensure the freshest produce is available for our customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of Produce Management experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and produce display expertise
- In-depth knowledge of produce, quality standards, and market pricing
Active role requiring movement on hard surfaces, bending, climbing, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs (with assistance for heavier items). Indoor environment with exposure to temperature extremes (freezers, coolers, ovens) and occasional loud equipment. Safe handling of cleaning agents, sharp tools, and industrial equipment.
