Location: Long Island City

We are currently seeking a Millwork Shop / Project Manager for a Luxury Residential General Contractor based in Queens, NY. The ideal candidate will be a talented individual to develop, manage & maintain all aspects of a custom millwork shop as well as manage installation of projects on site.

Responsibilities of the Millwork Shop / Project Manager
  • Work with leading architects & interior designers in the NYC area to realize custom cabinet & millwork designs from start to finish.
  • Coordination with preconstruction department, construction project manager & superintendent
  • Review drawings for constructability
  • Estimating the cost of construction. Developing & maintaining the estimating template
  • Managing the shop drawing / submittal process with outside consultant & construction team
  • Producing and/or managing samples and mockups
  • Planning stock and materials supply for each project
  • Managing workshop personnel
  • Work hands on with staff as required
  • Coordinating finishing if required
  • Coordinating delivery of completed work
  • Manage installation
Requirements of the Millwork Shop / Project Manager
  • Seasoned woodworking veteran with related management experience.
  • Personnel management responsibility with direct reports
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong team builder
  • Committed to providing exceptional quality while meeting customer deadline
  • Knowledge of woodworking and finishing
  • Knowledge of wood types
  • Knowledge of wood finishes
  • Stable work history
  • Positive attitude and willingness to innovate the business with new products, tools & methods
  • Ability to manage all financial aspects of the business
  • Ability to schedule work accurately, maintain a regular workflow, & set delivery expectations
  • Strong computer skills required - Email, Microsoft Excel, Word, Project
  • Manage shop equipment for maintenance, safety & efficiency
  • Recruit new team members as necessary
