Summary
Senior Counsel, Anti-Counterfeiting will lead the U.S. anti-counterfeiting program from Chanel's New York legal team, safeguarding brand integrity across online and brick-and-mortar channels. The role owns strategy, program governance, KPIs, budget stewardship, and the development of scalable processes and a high-performing team. You will advise internal stakeholders, manage external partners and outside counsel, and collaborate with global counterparts to drive enforcement outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the U.S. anti-counterfeiting strategy and program governance, including intake, prioritization, playbooks, and escalation paths.
- Define and track KPIs and dashboards to measure enforcement impact and operational performance; manage program budget and vendor oversight.
- Lead online enforcement across marketplaces, social platforms, domains, and digital channels; oversee notice-and-takedown workflows and technology solutions.
- Direct investigative strategy and enforcement planning for physical-location counterfeiting and manage relationships with investigators and outside counsel.
- Lead, coach, and develop the anti-counterfeiting legal team and deliver training and communications to internal stakeholders; represent the company with external agencies and industry groups.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar (New York preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in trademarks and anti-counterfeiting, including investigations, civil enforcement, and work with law enforcement or criminal matters; law firm and in-house experience preferred.
- Deep understanding of online platform procedures, notice-and-takedown processes, and AI-enabled detection and enforcement tools.
- Strong communication, sound judgment, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight time frames.
- Requires a minimum of three days per week in-person presence at the New York corporate office.
