Overview
Senior Construction Project Manager (Data Center) – New York and New Jersey area. Join Cumming Group’s Program & Project Management team to lead data center and mission‑critical infrastructure projects in a dynamic environment. The role includes client‑facing responsibilities, cost and schedule management, and project ownership.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, manage, and coordinate all aspects of the project schedule, scope, and cost.
- Value engineer projects, identify savings opportunities, and ensure material substitutions meet performance requirements.
- Communicate with and manage project stakeholders, including preparing the Project Management Plan and fee budget/proposal at project outset.
- Evaluate documents, clarify client goals and expectations, and develop action plans to guide the project team.
- Re‑evaluate contract scope as the project progresses and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate with cost management for cost estimates, cost studies, actual job cost reviews, and budget reconciliation.
- Organize and maintain project documentation and records in electronic and physical formats.
- Drive the permitting process, prepare required documents for local, state, and federal agencies, and ensure timely permit approval.
- Ensure design management follows client project documents – budget, scope, schedule, and design standards.
- Prepare cost and revenue projections.
- Attend work during normal business hours.
- Experience preparing Project Management Plans and fee/budget proposals.
- Experience developing and driving action plans.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor scope throughout the project and recommend adjustments.
- Ability to prepare and communicate cost and revenue projections.
- Knowledge of permitting processes and ability to drive timelines.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Understanding of the organization’s goals and the role’s contribution.
- Ability to deliver quality work and model core values.
- Strong collaboration and relationship‑building skills with peers, leaders, and clients.
- Proactive self‑development to enhance skills and prepare for career progression.
- Dependable, diligent, thorough, and resourceful project management in compressed timelines.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or a related field is required. 8+ years of project management, engineering, or construction management experience, with a focus on data center or mission‑critical infrastructure projects. Preferred certifications include CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, or LEED.
Compensation & BenefitsSalary range: $ – $ per year (base salary only). The range reflects base salary only and does not include total compensation.
