Senior Manager – Mergers & Acquisitions

Our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice is seeking a seasoned professional to lead functional and technology assessments during due diligence, carve‑out planning, integration, and post‑close execution. The role involves leading multi‑disciplinary teams, managing client relationships, and driving business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead teams serving clients across industries, demonstrating executive presence with C‑level client counterparts.
  • Facilitate due diligence site visits focused on identifying functional and technology strategy, organizational structures, and current state business processes and supporting technology.
  • Assess functional and technology investment strategies and compare operating models against leading practices and industry benchmarks.
  • Lead engagement teams on transaction advisory, guiding the team to prepare focused request lists and agendas, facilitating on‑site reviews, and providing leadership over deliverables.
  • Work with engagement leadership to implement functional processes and technology that support value creation and process efficiency across functions.
  • Facilitate client workshops focused on designing future‑state operating models, organization structures, and business requirements as part of a carve‑out or merger integration.
  • Manage project economics including tracking budgets, creating and delivering invoices, and managing the collection process.
  • Drive the development/enhancement of M&A methodologies and approaches to client delivery.
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data‑driven recommendations for clients.
  • Apply AI technologies to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.
  • Coach and manage other consultants and actively participate in the performance review process.
  • Understand client strategy and investment priorities and translate them into concrete engagements and detailed proposals.
  • Initiate and lead business development meetings with prospective clients.
  • Build and maintain a professional and affiliate network in the local community.
  • Create work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for prospects.
  • Participate in recruiting and retaining top‑quality consultants.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in business consulting and IT project‑based work.
  • Minimum of 5+ years managing complex functional and/or IT projects or people.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of consulting experience with industry domain expertise in Software/Hi‑tech, Healthcare, or Manufacturing & Distribution.
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into workflows and strong critical thinking to assess accuracy and mitigate bias.
  • Knowledge and experience working with private equity buyout and/or strategic mergers and acquisitions.
  • Deal execution management and leadership experience, including carve‑outs and merger integrations.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing client relationships.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and quality assurance experience.
  • Strong communication skills to work with C‑level clients.
  • Ability to travel 25–50%.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary ranges vary by location:

  • Seattle or Washington, D.C. $209,800—$246,800 USD
  • Los Angeles $219,800—$258,500 USD
  • New York City or San Francisco $229,800—$270,300 USD
  • A location not listed above $199,800—$235,000 USD

Employees receive competitive total rewards, including bonus structure, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, 401(k) plan participation, employee stock ownership, unlimited flexible time off, and ten paid holidays per year.
