Description
A nonprofit organization is seeking an Events Manager to support and execute a large portfolio of fundraising and community events. This role is based in New York City with a hybrid schedule and reports to the Director of Events. The Events Manager will play a key role in planning and delivering a wide range of events, including large-scale galas, leadership gatherings, and smaller private events.
This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of execution. The ideal candidate is proactive, personable, and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
What You’ll Do Event Planning & Execution- Manage the planning and execution of multiple events simultaneously, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
- Oversee event logistics including venue coordination, vendor management, guest communications, and on-site execution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for select events from planning through post-event follow-up
- Coordinate RSVP tracking, guest lists, seating, and registration processes
- Support fundraising components such as ticketing, auctions, and donation tracking
- Ensure a high-quality experience for all guests and stakeholders
- Source vendors, collect proposals, and assist with contract coordination
- Manage vendor communications and ensure timely delivery of services
- Track event expenses and support budget management
- Coordinate procurement, purchase orders, and invoice processing
- Troubleshoot issues and ensure seamless execution of all event details
- Utilize project management tools to track timelines, tasks, and deliverables
- Collaborate with internal teams to align event logistics with marketing and fundraising goals
- Coordinate production of event materials such as invitations, signage, and digital assets
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and streamline workflows
- Bachelor’s degree and 3–5+ years of experience in event planning or a related field
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with vendor coordination and on-site event execution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., )
- Familiarity with event marketing or social media is a plus
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
