Position Overview

The Portfolio Manager
- Spirits reports to the Vice President of Spirits and will develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy for a portfolio of emerging premium spirit brands across categories including Rum, Tequila, Mescal, Sherries, Liqueurs, and Vermouth. This role serves as a strategic and operational lead, responsible for building brand equity, driving profitable growth, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure flawless enablement and execution of sales and brand programming initiatives across the U.S. market.

The position serves as a critical link between our global spirits suppliers, marketing, and sales teams and oversees daily management of a portfolio.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions Strategic Planning and Leadership
  • Develop, execute and support S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) brand strategies and compelling sales incentive programs aligned with company goals and budgets
  • Identify growth opportunities through intelligence gathering, market analysis, consumer insights and category trends
  • Contribute to Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Sales & Operations Planning (SOP), and brand strategy processes.
  • Support key distributor relationships through brand presentations, business reviews and performance analysis
  • Collaborate with commercial finance and pricing teams to ensure competitive price positioning and optimized P&L performance
Portfolio Management & Execution
  • Lead sourcing, tactics, and relationship management for assigned brands in collaboration with suppliers, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Drive sales execution through national and local programs across PBI, wholesalers, and retail systems.
  • Launch new products and portfolios with tailored programming and tools.
  • Lead pre and post program ROI to ensure marketing investment is both effective and efficient.
Relationships & Communication
  • Serve as the main liaison between brand owners, marketing, sales and distributor partners to ensure brand strategies are clearly communicated and executed nationwide
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned spirit suppliers, brand team, sales teams, and distributor networks.
  • Partner with marketing and PR to execute and monitor effective brand programs.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews with stakeholders to align performance and goals.
Analytics & Optimization
  • Forecast and manage inventory to meet market demand efficiently.
  • Optimize promotional and operational spending to enhance sales, profits, and cost performance.
  • Adapt strategies and tactics based on market trends and performance data.
  • Provide leadership with actionable insights to support decision-making.
Educational Qualifications & Experiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration (finance, marketing, or related field); MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Beverage Alcohol working directly with suppliers and distributors.
  • Deep knowledge of the Spirits imports industry and three-tiered system.
