Summary
The Floor Director provides hands‑on leadership and consistent floor presence to drive exceptional client service and achieve Métier sales targets for the Meatpacking boutique. This role supervises, coaches and develops the selling team, manages merchandising and stock needs for assigned floors, and represents store leadership in the absence of the Managing Director. The Floor Director is responsible for reporting business performance, supporting buying preparation, and ensuring visual and operational standards are met.
Responsibilities- Supervise, coach, mentor and train the selling team with consistent floor leadership and by example.
- Manage Métier merchandising for assigned floors and identify daily stock needs, communicating with Managing Director, Operations and Merchants.
- Drive achievement of Floor Group and selling team sales goals and develop contests or campaigns to boost performance.
- Prepare for and attend bi-annual buy meetings for areas of responsibility and ensure visual standards are maintained.
- Report weekly business updates, analyze sales and productivity, and present findings at leadership meetings.
- Conduct monthly individual productivity meetings, deliver performance appraisals, and address performance issues.
- Oversee timely preparation of inventories and cycle counts and partner with Operations on reconciliation.
- Represent store leadership when Managing Director is absent and monitor support and security team adherence to policy; manage P&L and loss prevention responsibilities.
- Minimum 3 years prior store management experience or flagship Assistant Store Manager experience.
- Prior buying experience related to floor responsibility and experience reporting to executive management and merchants.
- Proven experience managing multi‑person teams, coaching for performance, and delivering presentations to leadership.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; strong analytical and time‑management skills, comfort with calculations and formulas.
- Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office;
PowerPoint preferred. - Ability to multi‑task, manage stress, resolve conflicts, and provide exceptional client service.
- Knowledge of French helpful; travel required approximately 3-5 weeks annually to Paris.
