We need a dynamic leader, at the Vice President (VP) level, who has a passion for building brands, driving business impact and leading a team of integrated marketers. This person will lead and grow Edelman’s remit through smart attention-grabbing work and elevated client relations out of our New York office. From planning and strategy to creative and measurement, you will be leading a business that is pioneering the earned communications landscape with consumer lifestyle focus.
Responsibilities- Experience in an integrated agency team (IAT) environment; able to lead and adapt ideas to fit those channels in collaboration with team and agency partners.
- Understanding the value of earned programming and how “PR” has evolved and translates in today's complex media environment.
- Building relationships and providing daily strategic counsel with clients across all brands in remit.
- Clients are communication and marketing leads; a general understanding of the full marketing ecosystem inclusive of paid, social, retail, influencer and PR is a must.
- Demonstrate the ability to evolve brands, promote them and garner attention and drive consumer action, with a track record in earned media strategy, counsel and activation.
- Lead and grow a team of direct and indirect reports by motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, and leading by example.
- Show financial acumen and the ability to lead a profitable business.
- Be empowered to think and operate beyond traditional “PR” concepts.
- Explore opportunities to impact business in a new era of marketing.
- Engage with creative, digital and paid media agencies; elevate partners; maximize events and collaborations; provide ongoing strategic client counsel.
- At least eight years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of how to communicate with teams and work from both client and agency sides.
- Experience with consumer brands, particularly in the food and beverage sector.
- Track record of leading profitable programs that advance client business goals.
- Excellent people-management skills; proven experience managing resources and budgets and helping win new business.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, professionalism and confidence to manage a team.
