Role:
Associate Director, S&P Global Corporate Strategy

Team:
You are part of the larger Strategy, M&A and Investments Team reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Strategy. This role focuses on S&P Global (SPGI) Corporate Strategy, supporting a broad range of strategic activities for a business of approximately $14 billion in revenue and over 40,000 employees worldwide. Our team partners closely with divisions, finance and enterprise functions, contributing to strategic growth priorities and plans, and providing performance analysis and recommendations to senior leaders.

Impact:
The Associate Director is a critical member of the Strategy team and the broader Finance, Strategy, M&A, Corporate Development and Partnerships community. You will drive near‑ and long‑term strategic objectives, manage research and presentation creation, and support senior leaders in communicating strategy to the S&P Global management team.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute a broad range of strategic projects, formulating recommendations and obtaining stakeholder buy‑in.
  • Collaborate with corporate strategy leads and senior management to define and set goals through the annual strategic planning process.
  • Develop actionable recommendations that support business strategy and goals, and work with the team to implement them.
  • Create business and operational action plans and drive implementation with peers, senior management and stakeholders.
  • Articulate the S&P Global strategy in a clear narrative for key stakeholders, tailoring messages to executive audiences.
  • Prepare communications of SPGI strategy and updates for the board of directors and investor community, eventually leading presentations.
  • Work with the M&A team and Chief Client Office colleagues to support strategic assessment and profiling of target companies for acquisitions, joint ventures and alliances.
  • Participate in scenario planning, case studies and modeling to strengthen strategy.
  • Analyze businesses and opportunities to assist the company in executing strategic decisions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape and emerging technologies.
  • Identify changes in market conditions, regulatory environment and macro‑economic factors that may require adjustments to strategic plans.
  • Advocate an enterprise mindset and act as a role model, educator, coach and mentor across the organization.
Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary: $122,865 – $245,161 USD (variable by geographic location, experience, skill set, training, licenses and certifications). Eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits.

Basic

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in management consulting, financial analysis, M&A modeling and execution, strategy, or senior executive support.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive work streams and large portions of projects with significant strategic impact.
  • Superior strategic and analytical skills, able to draw insights and develop clear recommendations.
  • Highly motivated, initiative‑driven and able to influence senior leaders.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management, including executive‑level PowerPoint skills.
  • Solid business acumen with knowledge of the financial data industry and markets.
