Job Summary

The Inventory Planning Manager leads the inventory planning function for all business units and is responsible for developing, executing, and refining inventory strategies that ensure optimal material availability while supporting financial and operational objectives. This role oversees inventory planners, drives planning discipline, and partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Logistics, Asset Management, and Category Management to ensure inventory levels align with demand inputs, business priorities, and working capital goals.

The manager leads continuous improvement initiatives, enhances planning systems and processes, and ensures accurate, timely visibility of inventory performance across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Inventory Planning Team; assign priorities, manage performance, and build planning capability across the group.
  • Oversee hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of inventory planning personnel.
  • Enforce standardized planning processes, planning tool usage, and data governance practices.
  • Own the development and execution of inventory strategies that reduce stockouts, limit overstock, and strengthen service levels across business units.
  • Ensure inventory targets align with operational demand inputs, maintenance schedules, and financial objectives.
  • Drive accurate, disciplined planning practices including replenishment strategies, demand segmentation, item rationalization, and excess &O governance.
  • Lead the review of inventory levels, turnover, back orders, and lead‑time fluctuations; direct corrective actions across the supply chain to resolve issues.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, BD, Procurement, Asset Management, Category Management, and Logistics to ensure proactive visibility of material requirements and supply constraints.
  • Coordinate material readiness for major operational events and maintenance campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Asset Accounting on inventory performance, working capital initiatives, and reporting accuracy.
  • Maintain and optimize planning systems, planning parameters (material master data), and inventory KPIs.
  • Implement and enhance real‑time inventory visibility tools and analytics to support decision‑making.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve forecasting inputs, reduce surplus, and optimize material availability across districts and warehouses.
  • Manage the E&O review process including tracking, reporting, and disposition recommendations.
  • Ensure planning processes, cycle requirements, and review cadences are followed consistently across the organization.
  • Communicate inventory health, risks, and action plans to leadership and cross‑functional partners.
  • Support audit readiness and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and ensure team adherence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, industrial distribution, engineering, materials management, or a related field required.
  • 5‑8 years of experience in inventory management, supply planning, or related analytical roles; prior oilfield services experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2‑3 years of leadership or team management experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of supply planning concepts, demand inputs, statistical analysis, and replenishment strategy for varying item profiles.
  • Proficiency with ERP/inventory management systems (SAP ECC/S4, Oracle, Net Suite) and advanced Excel/Office
    365 skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex datasets, interpret trends, and translate insights into action.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience in materials control, warehousing, or oil and gas operations preferred.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and project management capabilities.
  • Capable of performing intermediate mathematical calculations and communicating clearly in written and spoken English.
