What You Will Do
GFT is seeking a Project Manager for our Buildings + Places Federal Market. This PM reports to the B+P Projects & Program Management Discipline Lead. This position manages all aspects of project execution including budget, scope, and schedule while leading the project delivery team. This PM is our primary point of contact for client engagement and is responsible for providing excellent customer service.
Additionally, this position assists with identifying new federal business opportunities and leads project‑level proposal development.
When selected, you will lead multidisciplinary teams of architects and engineers through the full project lifecycle from inception to completion. You will be involved when the opportunity is identified, and lead proposal development and negotiations through award, form and lead your project delivery team (PDT) through all phases of design/execution, and continue to manage through construction completion to project close out.
You will lead projects for federal clients like DoW/DoD (USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC, etc.), DHS (USCG, US Secret Service, CBP, etc.), and/or other federal agencies. Your work will range from Engineering Studies and Facility Condition Assessments to Design‑Bid‑Build and Design‑Build construction delivery methods.
This position can be remote. Travel is required to support project execution, business development, networking events, in‑person office visits, training, etc.
Primary Responsibilities- Drive project execution.
- Lead multi‑disciplinary PDTs of architects and engineers.
- Translate client project scope to PDT actions.
- Work with the client to ensure the scope is met and that changes in scope are properly approved and compensated.
- Identify and schedule project deliverables for on‑time delivery.
- Perform project‑level financial management and reporting.
- Implement the GFT Quality Management system, ensure deliverables are reviewed for accuracy and completeness.
- Develop project fee and scope proposals in coordination with required discipline leads, lead fee negotiations with the client, ensure proper documentation and filing, and make recommendations concerning fee acceptance to leadership.
- Establish and nurture strategic business partnerships and customer relationships.
- Maintain membership in and active engagement with societies like SAME, ACEC, DBIA, and AIA.
- Make GFT capability presentations to prospective or current clients.
- Identify new federal market sector opportunities and potential future customers.
- Identify teaming opportunities and develop teaming relationships with industry partners.

- Travel and lead teams on federal and military site visits.
- Travel to and represent GFT at client Industry Days and other networking and intel gathering events.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA). A Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification may be considered in place of PE or RA.
- 10 years of federal experience in design and construction including knowledge of IDIQ, MATOC, SATOC, task order, and/or stand‑alone contract vehicles for federal clients or in the AEC industry serving federal clients.
- Familiarity with Federal/DoW building programs and contract acquisitions.
- Able to work collaboratively with clients and staff on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Organized with a positive team‑building spirit and a collaborative one‑team attitude.
- Ability to maintain a security clearance.
- US citizen.
The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
