Job Description:
The Director of Annual Giving and Special Events is a strategic advancement professional who leads the planning, execution, and growth of the College's annual giving program and signature events. Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and collaborating with Alumni Relations and Communications, this role drives donor participation and philanthropic support from alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends.
Key Responsibilities
Annual Giving
* Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-channel annual giving program (direct mail, email, digital, crowdfunding).
* Lead Giving Day and targeted campaigns to increase participation and revenue.
* Manage a portfolio of annual fund donors; qualify, solicit, and upgrade gifts.
* Build a pipeline of leadership annual donors and identify major gift prospects.
* Implement strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and re-engagement.
* Analyze performance metrics and refine campaigns in collaboration with Advancement Services.
* Support donor stewardship through personalized engagement and impact-focused communications.
Special Events
* Plan and execute advancement events, including donor cultivation, stewardship, and regional outreach.
* Partner with Alumni Relations and campus stakeholders to deliver engaging, mission-aligned events.
* Oversee logistics, budgeting, vendors, and timelines; evaluate ROI and effectiveness.
Collaboration & Leadership
* Partner across campus and with the College Foundation to support fundraising priorities.
* Ensure accurate gift processing, reporting, and donor acknowledgment.
* Supervise student workers/volunteers and foster a collaborative, results-driven team culture.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree. Masters preferred.
* 4 years of experience in fundraising, annual giving, alumni relations, event management, or related field.
* Demonstrated increased responsibility and success working in an advancement office managing donor portfolios and executing events.
* Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
* Ability to analyze data and translate insights into strategy.
* Familiarity with donor databases/CRM (Raiser's Edge, iWave, Alumni Finder, etc.) systems and digital engagement tools.
* Experience managing Giving Day or similar campaigns.
* Strategic thinking and results orientation
* Relationship building and donor-centered approach
* Data-informed decision making
* Creativity and innovation in engagement strategies
* Attention to detail and operational excellence
* Occasional evening and weekend work required for events and campaigns
* Some travel for regional and national events and donor engagement
Additional Information:
* Starting July 15, 2026
* Work schedule:
Monday - Friday, with occasional evenings/weekends. Some travel for regional and national events and donor engagement.
* Starting Salary: $90,000
