Our client is a founder-led, premium beauty and lifestyle company headquartered in New York City with a strong global presence. The business operates flagship retail locations in major international markets, has a growing direct-to-consumer ecommerce business, and is distributed through leading luxury retailers, hotels, spas, and wellness partners worldwide.

As the company continues its growth, they are seeking an experienced Director of Demand + Supply Operations to lead global planning, inventory, and operational excellence initiatives.

Position Summary

The Director of Demand + Supply Operations is responsible for leading the global demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, and operations planning functions to support company growth. This role oversees the end-to-end planning process to ensure product availability, optimized inventory levels, operational efficiency, and alignment with sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance strategies.

The successful candidate will scale planning processes, enhance forecast accuracy, drive cross-functional collaboration with Sales and Product Development, and lead a high-performing operations team.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead, coach, and develop the global Operations team while fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Serve as the primary strategic partner to Sales, Finance, and Marketing, ensuring alignment between business objectives and operational planning.
  • Develop and refine long-range demand and supply strategies that support profitable growth.
  • Build and implement scalable planning frameworks and operating rhythms across the organization.
Demand Planning
  • Improve forecast accuracy through analytics, customer insights, and integration with marketing plans.
  • Lead the forecast review process, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor sales trends and implement corrective actions to mitigate risk.
Supply Planning & Inventory Management
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to optimize production timelines and performance.
  • Define optimal inventory levels while balancing supply and demand.
  • Support new product launches by aligning forecasts with production schedules.
  • Oversee lifecycle planning for seasonal, promotional, and discontinued products.
Operational Excellence
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and collaboration.
  • Produce routine and ad hoc reporting to support executive decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies and reporting standards.
Team Leadership
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
  • Develop training materials and programs to strengthen team capabilities.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative working environment.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree or professional certifications (APICS, IBF, Supply Chain, Operations, Analytics) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in demand planning, supply planning, operations management, and distribution.
  • Experience with in Beauty, Consumer Goods (CPG), or a related fast-paced industry is strongly preferred.
  • Proven success leading teams and scaling planning processes within a high-growth business.
  • Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills and experience using forecasting tools, ERP systems, and reporting platforms.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $140,000–$160,000
  • Hybrid working model (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
