Position Overview

New York City College of Technology (City Tech) seeks a President to serve as the chief executive and visible leader across the College and throughout New York City. The President reports to the CUNY Chancellor and leads academic programs, student services, and administrative operations including budgeting, financial management, human resources, enrollment strategy, facilities oversight, and strategic planning.

As a member of CUNY’s senior leadership, the President collaborates with the Chancellor, the CUNY Board of Trustees, University executives, and fellow CUNY presidents to advance systemwide goals while championing City Tech’s mission. The role involves inspiring faculty, staff, and students, addressing institutional challenges with data, and fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and respect.

The President works closely with faculty and academic leadership to create and expand programs guided by market analysis, ensures enrollment and retention strategies, aligns academic support and student services, and advances City Tech’s long‑term financial sustainability through budget stewardship, securing funding, advocacy, and partnership building with donors and industry stakeholders.

• Exceptional mission‑driven leader with a strong record of progressive administrative leadership in an accredited college, university system, or comparably complex organization.
• Deep commitment to public higher education and the City Tech mission of access, equity, applied learning, and technological excellence.
• Proven success in cultivating relationships, advancing institutional priorities, and strengthening internal operations, including strategic planning, budget development, and financial stewardship.
• Demonstrated ability to manage people and resources, communicate decisions clearly, and navigate complex issues with resilience, adaptability, and sound judgment.
• Experience in engaging elected and appointed officials at city, state, or federal levels and navigating collective bargaining environments.
• Leadership experience within an urban college or large complex organization, understanding of shared governance, transfer pathways, and articulation agreements.
• Earned doctorate or terminal degree required.

Salary: $300,000 – $370,000 with competitive benefits, including a housing allowance.
