Position Overview

The Defense Program Account Representative will manage a portfolio of defense industry clients, serving as the primary U.S. point of contact for domestic OEMs and their Japanese counterparts. This role is responsible for managing complex client relationships, resolving account-specific issues, and coordinating seamlessly between U.S. clients, Japanese partners, and key stakeholders to ensure outstanding service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of defense industry clients and serve as their dedicated U.S. point of contact
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with U.S. OEMs, Japanese counterparts, and relevant government stakeholders
  • Understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions and services
  • Serve as the lead U.S. interface on assigned programs, ensuring smooth coordination across all parties
  • Track milestones, deliverables, and timelines while maintaining compliance with government regulations
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on program status, financial health, and potential risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to meet client requirements and expectations
  • Partner closely with international colleagues in Japan to achieve shared goals and objectives
  • Deliver timely, solutions-focused support and adapt approaches to meet unique client requirements
  • Stay current on defense industry trends, regulations, and the competitive landscape
  • Monitor budgets, expenditures, and contracts in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled in compliance with client and government expectations
  • Support financial forecasting, cost proposals, and regular program financial reporting
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in account management or sales within the defense industry
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and sustain long-term client relationships
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
Preferred Qualifications
  • Japanese fluency is nice to have, NOT required, experience in defense is more important
  • Familiarity with defense sector products, services, and market dynamics
  • Background in back-office functions including account/program management and SAP
  • Ability to adapt across customer-facing, corporate, accounting, and legal environments
Additional Information
  • Hybrid schedule (minimum 2 days in office per week)
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events
  • No visa sponsorship available for this position
  • Salary range: $92,000 – $112,000, 10% bonus
