Job Description
The Director of Residential Treatment will have oversight of all residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services. The position will ensure that all residential treatment programs operate in compliance with OASAS regulations while expanding services to meet the needs of adolescents and adults with substance use disorder. This individual will identify and implement new opportunities to expand services and to integrate services across the residential programs, where appropriate, ensuring utilization of shared resources, while maintaining specialized care where needed.
The position provides the leadership and management necessary to ensure the success of residential treatment services. The Director of Residential Treatment will work with internal and external stakeholders around referrals, coordination of care, and maintain connection to community partners and those affiliated with state and local government.

- Program Management: Expertise in managing and integrating residential treatment programs, ensuring compliance with OASAS regulations and best practices.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing workforce, healthcare/governing regulations, and organizational priorities. Flexibility to adjust strategies and processes in response to evolving internal/external trends.
- Provide leadership and management to the residential SUD treatment programs in the agency.
- Identify and implement integration, where appropriate, across the residential treatment programs.
- Implement and maintain all levels of residential treatment across the residential treatment programs.
- Ensure programming and services are culturally informed and clinically appropriate.
- Ensure that high quality care is provided and in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other leaders within the organization, ensuring an integrated approach to the spectrum of consumer needs and that evidence‑based and best practices are being utilized in the residential treatment programs.
- Collaborate with members of OASAS and all other local and state agencies and partners, as needed.
- Be active as a voice for residential treatment services with community partners and collaborations, such as the Western New York Chemical Dependency Consortium.
- Candidate must be a Qualified Health Professional (QHP).
- Competency requirements include leadership, management, critical thinking, decision‑making, results‑driven, clinical & business acumen, interpersonally skilled.
- Must be skilled in clinical and administrative supervision, program management, and organizational & leadership development.
- Experience working in Cerner Millennium preferred.
- Experience working in and leading a team within SUD/OASAS regulated environments.
- Knowledge of OASAS regulations and ability to stay updated on changes.
- Knowledge of best practices in the residential SUD operations, services, and programs.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others to accomplish organizational goals.
- Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team structure and direct service delivery methods.
- Must be able to relate effectively to diverse cultural and economic backgrounds and work effectively in a structured setting.
- Ability to foster an inclusive environment that aligns with the organization values as they relate to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Must possess the ability to respond quickly in a crisis and solve problems effectively.
