OverviewHUNTER seeks a Senior Vice President to lead our growing Tech practice. The SVP will oversee integrated account teams supporting a diverse portfolio of clients across retail, consumer technology, media, and sustainability and social impact. Reporting to the Managing Director of the Tech Practice, the SVP will serve as a strategic advisor to clients while providing leadership, mentorship, and direction to internal teams.
Responsibilities include driving client strategy, ensuring flawless execution of integrated communications programs, fostering strong client relationships, and contributing to the overall growth, operations, and culture of the Tech practice.
- Client/Account or Specialty Management
- Sustain and grow current account/client assignments and turn projects into ongoing budgets or renew client budgets annually.
- Supervise $1.5–2MM annually in fee revenue or generate a commensurate amount of fee or opportunity as a VP in agency specialty practices.
- Lead client program development with strategic, creative ideas and tactical elements that meet objectives; seek input from team and leadership.
- Cultivate trusted client relationships, demonstrating strong counsel and expertise.
- Proactively forecast client issues and address fiscal challenges early.
- Enforce terms and conditions of client MSA, scopes and policies.
- Track budgets and expenses: manage revenue recognition, provide timely updates, and submit accurate expense reports.
- Lead by example as senior leader, attending client meetings and agency culture events.
- Talent Leadership
- Build, lead, and develop integrated account teams.
- Mentor team members to develop forward‑thinking work involving new technology.
- Implement strategies to reduce turnover and build loyalty.
- Foster diversity and inclusion.
- Maintain team billability, drive utilization, and manage performance reviews.
- Collaborate with SLT on budget allocation and support staff growth.
- Ensure staff compliance with agency protocols and HR policies.
- Agency Fee Growth
- Lead new business proposal development and presentations (1–2 pitches per year).
- Review RFPs, assemble teams, and deliver strategic concepts.
- Negotiate fees/services, develop MSA and scopes.
- Participate in agency brainstorms and join other leaders' pitches.
- Maintain a professional network and develop new practice‑area opportunities.
- Dedication to agency values, exceptional client service, meaningful staff development, and agency growth.
- Trusted advisor to clients, champion of direct reports, collaborator, and industry‑savvy.
- Demonstrated ability to expand scopes, bring leads, and win new business opportunities.
- Strong relationship building with client leads, former contacts, and business connections.
- Enthusiasm, ingenuity, integrity, respect, and commitment to professional development.
Target base compensation: $150,000 – $200,000. Actual compensation varies by factors such as skill set, experience, and location.
