Shift Supervisor (Lighthouse)
Salary Range: $45,000.00 To $50,000.00 Annually

PRIMARY FUNCTION / PURPOSEThe Shift/Safety Supervisor is directly responsible for the management and supervision of the Safety Monitors on duty on their assigned shift. Monitors all activities to ensure safety in the physical plant and civility amongst clients, visitors and staff. This is for our site located in Long Island City, Queens.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervises Safety Monitors and ensures all safety and security duties are performed as per agency protocol.
- Conducts fire drills and documents results.
- Responds to incidents and follows DHS and agency protocols in responding to and documenting incidents.
- Reports incidents of Child Abuse to the state Central Registry.
- Interacts with HERO and provides updates on unit vacancies and occupancies. Accepts referrals and conducts initial intake of new families upon arrival to the facility.
- Answers facility phone and directs calls.
- Ensures that Safety Monitors conduct patrols and are monitoring the CCTV camera system and are reporting and documenting observations.
- Assists Safety Monitors in ensuring that clients follow shelter rules while in the facility.
- Trains Safety Monitors in security measures and recommends changes in procedures/equipment to the Manager of Building Operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Conduct daily audit of both the Safety Monitor's Desk Log, and the Supervisor's Desk Log for accuracy and content.
- Prepare/conduct Employee Appraisal Evaluations in a timely and thorough manner.
- Prepare and audit Incident/Accident Reports.
- Maintain and schedule van usage.
- Complete end of shift reports and emails reporting to Manager of Operations, the Program Director and DSS/Asst. Director.
- Oversee and supervise department staff in the utilization of the DHS Client Assistance and Re-housing System (CAREASystem) regarding Intake Check-In, Incident Reports, and Facility Bed Management.
- Must possess Security license.
- Must possess an F02.
- Must possess an F80.
- Must possess current CPR certification.
- NYS Driver's license required.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience in commercial/residential security or law enforcement, or Five (5) years' experience as a Private/Personal Security Officer.
- Must have good communication skills, experience working with women and children.
- Exhibits superior professionalism at all times, even when under pressure or experiencing challenges with the clients.
- Must successfully complete background investigation.
