The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Human Resources and Staff Development is seeking an experienced Training Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Training and Staff Development, the training Coordinator will assist with planning and scheduling various selected and agency-wide trainings, including soft skills, technical skills, and professional development trainings. The candidate will assist with curriculum development, specifically with the design, coordination, and development of internal learning solutions that support the mission of the agency.
Other responsibilities include maintaining the training room calendar for reservation, opening and closing the training room before and after an event, monitoring the Staff Development inbox and responding to inquiries in a timely manner, and creating and distributing training certificates. The selected candidate may also be asked to create special reports, assist in special projects, attend and take notes at meetings, and work on other special training programs and initiatives as identified by the Director.
All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States. In compliance with Public Law 99-603, candidates are required to present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S. DDC is unable to support or sponsor any visa application or visa extension, including but not limited to OPT/STEM visas, H-1B visas, F-1, permanent residence sponsorship, or any proposed change of visa type.
DDC does not offer a training program as required by U.S. immigration law and is not hiring temporary employees. Candidates must have proper work authorization when an employment offer is made.
Educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution. Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification from an approved evaluation service. Minimum Qualifications- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be experienced in customer service and must be a team player. In addition, possess good follow-up skills, the ability to provide feedback, be flexible, and able to pay close attention to detail while working on multiple projects. The select candidate should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Visio and Word.

Residency RequirementNew York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
