About The Role
As a CBRE Technical Sr. Manager, you will manage the team responsible for all Comm Rooms, Structured Cabling operations, maintenance, communications, workforce development programs, and infrastructure projects for NY Metro and an approximate 70‑site distributed portfolio of buildings. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and includes responsibilities such as Comm Room support, preventive maintenance, white‑space condition audits, equipment repairs, IT project management, and network power‑down support.
The role requires a minimum of four days per week in the client’s NY office.
- Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor training and development, conduct performance evaluations and coaching, and oversee recruiting and hiring.
- Coordinate and manage the team’s daily activities; establish work schedules, assure coverage, assign tasks, review and approve overtime requests, and cross‑train staff; set and track staff and department deadlines; mentor and coach as needed.
- Manage network operations and Comm Room maintenance for assigned facilities.
- Develop operating and capital budgets.
- Manage the team to meet operating budgets, metrics, and KPIs.
- Recommend and implement improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an ongoing basis; create and maintain effective building‑specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
- Act as the point of contact for maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel, and technicians.
- Maintain ongoing communication with high‑profile tenants, clients, owners, business units, client IT, facility management, project management, MAC (moves, adds, changes) team, and vendors.
- Apply broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and integration with other disciplines to achieve team and departmental objectives.
- Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values; influence others to adopt new perspectives while adhering to policies and departmental plans.
- Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
- Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.
- Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards to ensure all KPIs are met.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 5–8 years of relevant experience; a combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.
- Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
- Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impact on multiple job disciplines and the department.
- In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.

CompensationThe minimum salary for the position is $115,000 per year and the maximum salary is $225,000 per year. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
