Position Overview

Senior Vice President, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) – New York, NY. The role leads and operates Blackstone’s enterprise resilience program, responsible for strategy, architecture and execution of BC/DR capabilities across the organization. The position seeks an experienced leader to develop and scale a global strategic plan focused on mitigating financial, reputational, and regulatory risks.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program – Build, integrate, and maintain an audit‑ready program aligned to business priorities.
  • Ensure Global Regulatory Alignment – Align BC/DR practices with U.S., Europe, and Asia regulatory requirements, including SOX and DORA.
  • Embed Risk‑Based Planning – Partner with business units to drive consistent, risk‑informed continuity planning.
  • Lead Business Impact Analyses (BIA) – Identify critical functions, dependencies, and recovery priorities with quantified impact.
  • Define Critical Services & Operational Dependencies – Establish visibility into processes aligned with CSO and CIO priorities, mapping third‑party dependencies.
  • Design BC/DR Frameworks – Architect scalable, enterprise‑wide capabilities aligned to the organization’s strategy.
  • Standardize Policies & Playbooks – Establish enterprise standards for continuity, crisis response, and recovery.
  • Operationalize BCM Plans – Maintain executable plans across business units and regions.
  • Drive Training & Adoption – Embed ownership through training, communication, and accountability initiatives.
  • Lead Testing & Validation – Conduct exercises to confirm readiness, identify gaps, and track performance.
  • Support Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) – Integrate BC/DR functions to coordinate response across incidents.
  • Manage Crisis & Incident Response – Serve as a key escalation point for incident coordination, response execution, and recovery management.
  • Conduct Client Engagement & Due Diligence (DDQs) – Communicate BC/DR capabilities, compliance, and resilience maturity to stakeholders.
  • Deliver Executive Reporting & Program Metrics – Provide KPIs, dashboards, and transparency for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee Disaster Recovery (DR) Program – Align to continuity priorities, ensure SOX/DORA compliance, and protect operations.
  • Define Recovery Objectives & Sequences – Partner with application owners to align recovery objectives, dependencies, and sequencing.
  • Embed BC/DR into Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) – Integrate BC/DR into ERM, audit, and deal lifecycle processes.
  • Operationalize Recovery Capabilities – Implement standardized, executable recovery strategies with internal development standards.
  • Validate & Improve DR – Conduct testing, track performance, and ensure readiness.
Qualifications & Education
  • 15+ years leading enterprise security, BCM, and DR in complex global environments.
  • Proven operator in high‑tempo, high‑accountability settings with strong judgment.
  • Deep experience managing budgets, invoicing, contractors, and vendors.
  • Track record building and scaling enterprise resilience programs.
  • Expertise in risk identification, gap analysis, and solution execution.
  • Strong executive engagement – influences leadership and drives adoption.
  • Experience leading crisis response and recovery operations.
  • Advanced program management and cross‑functional coordination skills.
  • Effective communicator in global, cross‑cultural environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s preferred.
Compensation & Benefits

Expected annual base salary range: $175,000 – $235,000 (subject to experience and location). Additional compensation includes discretionary bonuses and potential equity and incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
