The Role

As a Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering technology projects on time and on budget. You will demonstrate leadership, client and team trust, solid project management core skills, and the ability to handle all administrative aspects of a project. In addition to client‑focused project delivery, you will support the service group through involvement in process improvement activities.

Travel Requirements

This position is remotely based in the Continental US but may require up to 10 % travel for company meetings and client site visits.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple technology implementation projects simultaneously using Contender Solution’s project management method.
  • Coordinate all project activities with business owners, stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between vendors, customers, sub‑contractors, and engineering teams across various locations.
  • Track and maintain an accurate, continually updated view of activities and deliverables to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed customer satisfaction goals.
  • Ensure expected service levels are met and that all Statement of Work deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Perform day‑to‑day management of all project phases, including requirements, design, development, test, and deployment.
  • Manage resource planning and assignments by partnering with internal staff to determine project approach, staffing, responsibilities, and schedules.
  • Define team member roles and expectations, and ensure effective communication among all parties.
  • Monitor costs and provide accounting support for project time, materials, and services.
  • Oversee change management on overall project scope, following a predefined change process.
  • Develop partner relationships with clients for long‑term benefit.
  • Remain up to date on relevant solutions, products, and services by attending internal PM training, pursuing developmental goals, and obtaining or maintaining PM certifications.
  • Actively participate in developing program and project management practices through internal change initiatives.
Required Skills and Professional Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work or military experience.
  • 8–10 years of project management experience delivering multiple projects to successful completion, preferably at a technology solution provider or in a corporate IT department.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering Service Now projects.
  • Superior project management, time management, and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement projects on time and on budget.
  • Strong organization and coordination skills across all project activities.
  • Effective people‑management skills: motivating, developing, coaching, and selecting the right people for the job.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and active listening skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills with ability to persuade and negotiate.
  • Solid communication and change management skills to influence and lead teams and customers.
  • Results‑oriented with a strong commitment to deliver outcomes.
  • Ability to manage numerous small projects simultaneously.
  • Socially perceptive and aware of how others respond.
  • Strong critical thinking, complex problem‑solving, appropriate judgment, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to sense and forecast problem areas.
  • Proficiency in English language and reading comprehension.
  • Experience initiating, managing, and completing projects using Contender PPM.
  • Experience managing resource plans, project milestones, tasks or stories, and RASCI matrices.
  • Experience publishing project status reports.
  • Role as liaison between customer, project team, and Contender.
  • Ability to develop and manage trusted relationships with customers during project execution.
