Overview
The Private Markets Analytical Officer is a senior leader who reports to the Chief Analytical Officer for Structured Finance & Private Markets. The role develops and executes the company strategy to position S&P Global Ratings as the premier provider of ratings, insights, and expertise in the private markets landscape. As a Grade 14 executive, the officer sets vision, motivates teams, collaborates across divisions, and delivers analytical excellence that aligns with enterprise and divisional strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Analytical Excellence
:
Work with Chief Analytical Officers, Practices, and Methodology teams to assess complex private‑market transactions, develop analytical approaches for esoteric risks, and ensure high standards of analytical quality, data consistency, and methodological discipline. - Strategic Thought Leadership
:
Shape the firm’s perspective on market trends, risks, and structures; produce thought‑leadership pieces; translate themes into clear, compelling narratives for clients, regulators, and market participants. - Market Engagement
:
Elevate S&P Global Ratings’ profile through research, viewpoints, and insights; act as senior spokesperson to regulators, industry associations, media, and other stakeholders; translate complex market content into externally relevant insights. - Leadership & Collaboration
:
Build partnerships across analytical teams and other S&P Ratings groups; influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed organization; manage projects, prioritize competing demands, and coach team members to maximize performance.
This section applies to US candidates only. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $210,000
USD to $291,000
USD, with final compensation based on location, experience, skills, licenses, and certifications. The role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
- 15+ years of extensive experience in private markets, private credit, credit ratings, structured finance, corporate credit, infrastructure finance, or related analytical fields.
- Deep understanding of private‑market dynamics across regions and asset classes, with demonstrated experience in thought leadership, research, or market‑insight development.
- Strong analytical credibility and ability to develop authoritative market perspectives; experience improving data quality, consistency, and usability.
- Proven track record leading high‑performing analytical teams and delivering thought‑leadership outputs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex analytical topics into clear narratives; proven ability to influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Preferred:
Master’s degree or CFA designation. - All employees must work from the office a minimum of 2days per week and attend at least one in‑person interview before an offer can be made.
