Position Summary

International House (I-House) is seeking a compassionate, strategic, and culturally responsive Director of Resident Health and Wellbeing (Director) to serve as the primary wellness resource for our diverse international residential community.

Reporting to the Vice President of Resident Experiences, the Director provides leadership in resident wellbeing through supportive counseling, case management, crisis intervention, wellness education, and community engagement. The Director develops and implements initiatives that foster resilience, belonging, intercultural understanding, and holistic wellbeing while supporting residents through personal, academic, emotional, and cultural transitions.

As a member of the Resident Experiences leadership team, the Director collaborates across departments to strengthen the resident experience, supervise the Peer Counselor Program, coordinate wellness initiatives, and contribute to the strategic priorities of International House.

Live-In Position Expectations

This is a required live-in position. The Director is provided a one-bedroom apartment within International House and serves as an active member of the residential community. Living on-site is an essential function of the position and supports the Director's ability to build relationships with residents, provide timely support, and respond effectively to emergencies.

The successful candidate will:
  • Reside at International House as a condition of employment.
  • Maintain a visible, approachable, and engaged presence within the residential community.
  • Participate in an established on-call rotation and respond to resident emergencies and urgent concerns occurring outside normal business hours.
  • Provide after-hours consultation and support to Resident Experiences staff and Public Safety regarding wellness and behavioral concerns.
  • Support evening and weekend programs, community events, and institutional initiatives as needed.
  • Exercise sound professional judgment in responding to emergencies and determining when consultation, referral, or emergency services are required.
