AHRC NYC is looking to hire multiple Residential Assistant Managers for their Queens ICF and IRA Group Home residences. The Residential Assistant Manager is responsible for collaborating with the Residence Manager and other management team members in overseeing all aspects of operation for the community residential program to which they are assigned.

Compensation package: $43,000‑$48,000 per year depending on residence placement. In addition, you will receive a $750 bonus that becomes part of your base salary upon completion and passing of AHRC NYC's Defensive Driving class, if driving is required. Overtime is available when warranted. This position also comes with a comprehensive benefit package that includes Free Medical Insurance!

Weekly schedule: One weekend day each week is required, with two consecutive days off each week, either Fri/Sat or Sun/Mon. The rest of the weekly schedule is a combination of day and evening shifts, with no overnight shifts.

Essential Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Assist with ensuring ongoing compliance and quality assurance with state and federal regulations applicable to the operation of the facility to which you are assigned.
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to direct support employees assigned to the residence. Confer with the Residence Manager in completing mandated written evaluations of staff in residence and participate in overseeing any disciplinary actions needed to address performance problems by staff.
  • Provide service coverage in accordance with staff scheduling established by the Residence Manager, and provide coverage in cases where scheduling may change due to direct staff shortages or emerging needs of residents.
  • Assume responsibility for smooth operations of the residence, including adherence to funder’s and agency’s policies and procedures related to house and vehicle maintenance, fire safety, and residents’ and personnel files.
  • Collaborate with the Residence Manager in planning each resident’s individualized program of services and care, covering both daily and longer‑term needs, and ensuring delivery of services and care by direct care staff that addresses each resident’s interests, preferences, strengths and capabilities.
  • When assigned to oversee medical services, collaborate with residence clinical staff to monitor direct care activities related to medical services, including ongoing maintenance of electronic and paper medical records, scheduling and attending medical appointments, proper administration of medications, and request for referrals as needed.
  • Ensure each resident’s basic needs are met, including adequate supply of food, clothing, personal hygiene items, and any other personal belongings necessary to meet individual needs within the home environment.
  • Along with the Residence Manager, serve as liaison with the Treatment Coordinator in reviewing the quality of active treatment services and expected residential habilitation outcomes, including attending team meetings, evaluating the accuracy of activity schedules and documentation.
  • In conjunction with the Residence Manager, formulate and recommend new ideas and outcomes directed towards enhancing the quality of each resident’s life.
  • Attend and successfully complete mandated and skills development training courses, as assigned, and provide training to staff at the residence as needed.
  • Experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is required.
