Signature Theatre Assistant Facilities Manager Job Opportunity

Signature Theatre Company is a nonprofit Off-Broadway theatre company founded in 1991 by James Houghton, initially housed in a black-box space at the Kampo Cultural Center in Manhattan's No

Ho neighborhood. Signature built its reputation on a distinctive model: devoting an entire season to the work of a single living playwright, beginning with Romulus Linney as its first resident writer. Over more than three decades, the company has hosted more than 30 playwrights across three residency programs, including Edward Albee, Horton Foote, Athol Fugard, John Guare, and Sam Shepard, and its artists have received more than 100 awards, including the first-ever Regional Theatre Tony Award given to a New York City company, in 2014.

In 2012, Signature opened The Pershing Square Signature Center, a 75,000-square-foot, three-theatre complex on West 42nd Street designed by Frank Gehry — the largest new theatre center built in New York City in nearly fifty years. The Center includes three performance spaces, two rehearsal studios, a public lobby with a café and bookstore, and administrative offices, and has become a hub for both Signature's own productions and outside rentals and events.

Signature is now led by Artistic Director Emily Shooltz and Executive Director Timothy J. McClimon, and continues to run its Signature Ticket Initiative, which has provided over a million affordable, subsidized tickets to its productions since launch.
