The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system's 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City.

The Bureau of Water Supply seeks to hire an Administrative Project Manager NM-1 to serve as the Deputy Chief, Job Order Contracts (JOCs) West of Hudson with the Quality Assurance & Support Services unit within the Drinking Water Operations Directorate, for a position located in Arkville, New York. Under supervision, of the Chief of Job Order Contracts Construction and Engineering, the Deputy Chief will be responsible for performing highly complex and critical work involving the planning, coordination, and oversight of medium to large scale construction work in the West of Hudson Watershed.

This also includes supporting the East of Hudson Job Order Contracts (JOCs) Construction Program with overall budget overview and coordination of contracts. This includes determining project costs, developing time estimates, and identifying funding sources related to construction initiatives, contract review, etc. In agencies with a capital budget, the Deputy Chief plays a key role in the development, negotiation, and administration of the overall capital budget.

The decisions made by individuals in this role directly impacts the City's capital funding priorities and allocations. Specific duties include:

• Overseeing the operation and maintenance emergency projects of the division's water supply facilities, lands, and highways to ensure the continued reliability of New York City's Water Supply System and complying with all applicable state and federal regulations.
• Managing procurement and budgeting for essential supplies and services required to support regional operations and ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) compliance standards.
• Maintaining JOCs Budgeting and oversees JOCs shared drive systems for compliance and uniformity between regions.
• Demonstrating a thorough understanding of, and commitment to, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) standards and procedures.
• Fostering a safe and compliant workplace environment, promoting practices that eliminate safety hazards and ensuring all employees follow EH&S laws, regulations, and the policies outlined in the DEP Employee Environmental, Health and Safety Handbook.
• Helping to operate Bureau and Drinking Water Operational staff with development of scopes and budgeting.
• Overseeing construction projects, as well as contractor billing and approvals necessary to begin and continue work.
• Overseeing a staff of Construction Project Managers in the West of Hudson Region based in region wide offices.

License Requirement: A Motor Vehicle Driver's License valid in the State of New York. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment. Special

Working Conditions:

Administrative Project Managers may be required to work various shifts including nights, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Some of the physical activities performed by Administrative Project Managers and environmental conditions experienced are: walking to and from inspection sites and during the course of inspections; climbing and descending ladders or stairs to get to areas to be inspected, including exposed heights and confined spaces;

standing for extended periods of time; distinguishing colors; bending, stretching, and stooping during inspections; communicating orally; climbing over and around various objects; walking in areas that may be damp, moldy, dark, dusty, smoky, vermin infested, noisy, acrid, or containing fumes, emissions, extreme heat and cold, lead dust, asbestos, or other potentially hazardous material; and working outdoors in all kinds of weather.
