Overview:

Floating Branch Managers play a critical role in driving consistent performance, growth, and operational excellence across the branch network while upholding MCU’s core values. You will be accountable for providing leadership coverage at multiple branch locations, ensuring business continuity, supporting teams during transitions, and reinforcing organizational priorities wherever support is needed.

As a Floating Branch Manager, you will lead by example- driving performance and sales growth, coaching and developing teams, and ensuring superior member experiences across all assigned locations. You will quickly assess branch dynamics, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement best practices to strengthen performance, service, and team engagement.

This role is also responsible for proactively identifying emerging risks, operational gaps, and compliance concerns, while also recognizing and elevating successful practices that can be replicated across the network. You will provide timely feedback and insights to leadership, helping inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.

In addition, the Floating Branch Manager will actively support community engagement efforts and represent MCU with professionalism and integrity at all times. Your ability to adapt quickly, inspire diverse teams, deliver measurable results, and ensure alignment across multiple locations is essential to the Credit Union’s continued growth and impact.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide leadership coverage and operational support across multiple branch locations as assigned
  • Travel regularly between branches and adjust schedules as needed to support vacancies, extended absences, performance gaps, or special initiatives.
  • Quickly assess branch performance, staffing dynamics, and operational health upon arrival at each location and prioritize actions accordingly
  • Consistently reinforce organizational priorities, expectations, and performance standards across all supported locations.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with Retail Leadership regarding branch conditions, risks, successes, and support needs
  • Maintain flexibility to meet changing business needs and priorities
Leadership & Coaching
  • Assist in the creation, implementation, and achievement of the branch business plans to meet organizational goals while maintaining an operationally sound branch.
  • Clearly communicate business priorities and ensure effective execution across the team.
  • Model and reinforce MCU’s values and organizational priorities to align branch activities with corporate strategy
  • Drive branch performance and sales growth, inspiring teams through leadership and collaboration.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement, ensuring staff understand how daily actions connect to broader org goals
  • Takes personal ownership to deliver results. Empowers and trusts others in decision-making.
  • Responsible for staffing the branch, including recruiting/identifying talent, interviewing and selecting branch team
  • Build a diverse talent pipeline and champion continuous learning and development.
