Responsible for the safety and security of the organizations’ employees, clients, visitors and property. Activities include: (1) conducting loss prevention assessments, including identifying and characterizing potential risks (2) developing processes and procedures to report on, manage and mitigate loss and security risks to acceptable levels (3) overseeing and conducting security activities, including controlling entry and exit to the organization's premises and safeguarding facilities, equipment, materials and employee property.

- Job focus is on managing others and applying operational or strategic management skills
- Supervises the daily activities of business or technical support or production team
- Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors
- Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager
- Typically does not perform the work supervised
- Requires understanding and application of procedures and concepts within own discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines
- Applies understanding of how the team relates to other closely related areas to improve efficiency of own team
- Has formal supervisory responsibilities; sets priorities for and coaches employees to meet daily deadlines
- Uses judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems
- Impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team and its contribution to the sub- function
- Uses tact and diplomacy to exchange information and handle sensitive issues
In addition to understanding the responsibilities of the Lead Coordinator, the Security Shift Supervisor has the following additional obligations:
Minimum education level – High School graduate. College degree preferred.
Experience level working in the security industry:
Must be computer literate and have typing proficiency.
Be familiar with/able to use the following:
- Word processing applications (MS Word).
- Spreadsheet applications (MS Excel).
- Database applications (MS Access).
- Publisher type applications (MS Publisher).
- Presentation applications (PowerPoint)
- Collaboration applications (MS Teams).
Be familiar with security systems:
