Position Summary

The Community Supervisor manages one or more of the agency's residential homes, overseeing all operational, regulatory, and fiscal responsibilities. This role ensures the safety, health, and well-being of individuals served, maintains compliance with regulations, and upholds a clean, well-kept environment. The Community Supervisor leads Life Plan meetings, supports person-centered services, and acts as a liaison between families, advocates, and service providers.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, training, and compliance with agency policies, as well as participation in program development, hiring, and evaluation. The position requires 24-hour on-call availability to address urgent needs and ensure continuity of care.

Role's Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision to staff by meeting with all staff a minimum of quarterly, completing performance reviews by deadlines, and referring performance issues to the Assistant Director for action.
  • Responsible for scheduling staff, modifying schedules as needed to fill staffing gaps and reduce overtime, and overseeing work assignments with adjustments as necessary.
  • Tracks, maintains, and monitors documentation of individuals' personal finances and agency petty cash, ensuring funds are secured in the house safe.
  • Ensures staff follow time and attendance standards, monitors attendance regularly, approves time-off requests promptly, and verifies weekly timecards in KRONOS by Monday deadlines.
  • Completes Staff Action Plans in Medisked, ensures safeguards are accurate, and maintains compliance with required time frames.
  • Conducts fire drills for assigned programs as required.
  • Ensures all Medisked blocks and daily documentation are accurate and up to date.
  • Submits Reviewable forms within 24 hours of occurrence and gathers supporting documentation as needed.
  • Completes monthly notes for assigned individuals by the 25th of the following month, documenting valued outcomes and significant updates.
  • Submits end-of-month reports to the Assistant Director, including fire drills, AED checks, water temperature, physical plant maintenance, mileage, and other required items.
  • Participates in Life Plan meetings, providing leadership, guidance, and timely communication of pertinent information.
  • Ensures individuals' personal hygiene needs, such as toileting, bathing, and changing, are met.
  • Knows, understands, and follows the DSP Code of Ethics and promptly reports any suspected abuse.
  • Conducts monthly staff meetings with agendas, minutes, and signatures.
  • Provides on-site orientation and training for new hires promptly and delegates as appropriate.
  • Adheres to program budget guidelines for food, household, and recreation expenses.
  • Creates requisitions in Spendmap for program needs.
  • Ensures staff coordinate household tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, shopping, and cooking to promote individuals' independence.
  • Schedules recreational activities and ensures transportation for individuals to and from programs, work, school, and community activities.
  • Responsible for vehicle maintenance for assigned programs.
  • Maintains 24-hour on-call responsibility for assigned programs per On-Call Structure.
  • Attends management meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field
  • In lieu of a degree, five (5) years experience in a supervisory role for a residential program may be considered

Experience

  • At least three (3) years of experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities
  • At least one (1) year of experience leading a community residence or group of residences
