Yoh has an immediate, 3-month contract opportunity, for a Disaster Program Specialist (Driving) within the non profit, humanitarian Industry to join our client, Onsite, to report from their office based in Columbia, SC
- Max Hourly Rate $24/hr on a W2
- Mon-Friday, 40 hours a week, must have flexibility for nights/weekend/On Call during a disaster
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout a multi-county territory
- 2+ years of experience in emergency management, disaster services, volunteer leadership, public safety, or community program coordination, with the ability to build partnerships, lead response efforts, and support disaster preparedness and recovery activities across a multi-county territory

- Lead and coordinate disaster preparedness, response, and recovery programs across an assigned territory.
- Manage and develop a primarily volunteer workforce, including recruiting, training, coaching, and leadership development.
- Serve as the local operational lead during disaster incidents and emergency response activities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with Emergency Management, government agencies, community organizations, VOADs, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate community resources, shelters, vendors, and volunteers to support disaster operations and client needs.
- Participate in emergency planning, training exercises, and disaster readiness initiatives with local and regional partners.
- Respond to disaster incidents as needed, including travel within the territory using American Red Cross vehicles to support response and mass care activities.
- HS Diploma or GED required,Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field, preferred but not required
- 2+years of experience in disaster services, emergency management, public safety, nonprofit program management, military, EMS, fire services, or a related field.
- Experience leading, supervising, or coordinating volunteers, teams, or community-based programs.
- Proven ability to respond to emergencies, manage multiple priorities, and make decisions in fast-paced situations.
- Experience building relationships with government agencies, emergency management offices, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Strong skills in program coordination, planning, training, and resource management.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience presenting to or collaborating with community leaders and diverse populations.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout a multi-county territory and respond to incidents after hours, on weekends, and during emergencies.
