NYCEDC’s Asset Management division oversees the strategy and stewardship of a diverse portfolio of conventional and non-traditional assets across all five boroughs. This portfolio includes commercial real estate, transportation and port assets, critical infrastructure, energy assets, public markets, and industrial campuses. The division organizes its assets across multiple portfolios to support effective planning, operations, investment, and performance management.
The Energy and Sustainability Analytics Manager (Internally referred to as an Assistant Vice President (AVP)) sit s within Asset Management’s Energy Team , which oversees the development and execution of NYCEDC’s portfolio-wide strategy. The AVP will lead energy management and decarbonization efforts at the Brooklyn Army Terminal (BAT)—a n almost 4.5 million sq ft industrial campus managed by NYCEDC. The AVP will work on-site to identify , analyze, and implement energy, water, and process improvements , emphasizing smart systems, digital optimization, and strategic planning .
This position bridges technical energy analysis with operational strategy, developing projects that reduce energy use intensity, lower peak demand, improve resiliency, and support long-term compliance with New York City’s decarbonization mandates (LL84, LL87, LL97) and State Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) goals.
Energy Management and Analysis
- Develop and execute a comprehensivedata-drivenenergy management plan for BAT, including measurable targets for energy savings, demand reduction, and emissions mitigation, by developing and improving upon current data sources and platforms for informed decision-making.
- Benchmark building performance,identify trends, and predict savings opportunities through data visualization.
- Track and report progress toward annual savings goals , targeting minimum 1% reduction in annual energy use .
- Identify and deliver advanced energy projects , including demand-response enablement, networked lighting, and digital-twin performance monitoring.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA),utilities, and consultants toalignonproject implementation and incentive opportunities.
