Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Associate Director of Admissions is responsible for the coordination, development, and execution of undergraduate recruitment, primarily focusing on a designated geographical area. Additionally, the incumbent assists with day-to-day operations regarding data management admissions functions and works closely with the Executive Director to develop and mentor the first-year admissions team.

Essential Duties
  • Provide strategic leadership on major undergraduate student recruitment initiatives.
  • Liaise with deans, program directors, and faculty to build and maintain strong brand ambassadorship.
  • Act as a central spokesperson during key student recruitment events.
  • Take the lead role in onboarding and training new sector employees.
  • Maintain a full undergraduate recruitment portfolio while performing leadership duties, satisfying pre-determined enrollment objectives, and effectively communicating proposed action plans to address any deficiencies.
  • Conduct daily interviews and presentations with prospective students using strategic communication tactics.
  • Meet with prospective students and families to explain the distinct advantages of a Catholic, Vincentian education at Niagara University.
  • Counsel prospective families on the NU application process, directly assisting them to expedite and complete their files.
  • Arrange a timely, appropriate, and cost-effective travel schedule to satisfy regional recruitment objectives.
  • Exemplify outstanding written/verbal communication skills and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Present a positive image of Niagara University at all times when representing the institution at external functions (e.g., college nights, open houses, high school presentations).
  • Work effectively and collegially alongside university colleagues, employees, and students.
  • Maintain thorough familiarity with all courses, degrees, certificates, and departments at Niagara University, alongside comprehensive knowledge of college admissions and financial aid processes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of information (including student and employee personal data, academic records, etc.) both during and after employment, adhering to university policies regarding disciplinary actions for violations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
General Description

% of Time
80% Recruitment & Leadership:
Recruitment travel (high school visits, college information nights), coordination of the Niagara Nights overnight program, student interviews and follow-up, Saturday appointments, participation in weekend/evening events, and providing strong operational leadership to the admissions team.
20% Operations & Analytics:
Data entry, computer systems assistance, report writing, and data interpretation.
