The Executive Director serves as the senior administrative leader of the Institute for Safe Patient Care and Patient Empowerment, co-leading with the Faculty Director. The Executive Director is responsible for operationalizing the Institute's mission to shift culture and educate other medical centers in New York State and nationally on best practices to detect, prevent and report sexual abuse. Reporting to the Weill Cornell Medicine Executive Vice Provost / Chief Operating Officer, the Executive Director oversees and implements strategy, operations, finances, partnerships, compliance reporting, staffing, communications, and organizational development.

The Executive Director will build and scale a nationally recognized institute that serves as a leading resource within the healthcare community, including patient safety organizations, regulators, accrediting agencies, and law enforcement to address detection, prevention and reporting of sexual misconduct in the healthcare setting.

• Translate & develop the Institute's strategic plans & priorities into annual operating plans and measurable outcomes.
• Develop organizational infrastructure to support growth and long-term sustainability by establishing annual goals, performance metrics, and reporting processes.
• Co-lead implementation of Institute initiatives, including: national advocacy activities, accreditation standards initiatives, medical student and resident curricula development, research strategy and publishing, and outreach and consulting services.
• With a hands-on day-to-day approach, establish administrative systems, policies, and procedures including staffing, recruitment, reporting, and workforce planning.
• Develop and administer the Institute's annual operating budget including monitoring expenditures and financial performance.
• Develop external revenue opportunities as well as funding opportunities, grants, philanthropy, sponsor ships, and strategic partnerships.
• Oversee & co-lead the preparation & delivery of reports required under the SDNY Voluntary Compliance Agreement.
• Co-lead the development of reports, dashboards, presentations, and performance metrics to track Institute deliverables for leadership and governance bodies (eg, Steering Committee, Board of Fellows Clinical Affairs Committee, Audit Risk and Compliance).
• Develop relationships with:
  Academic medical centers, Professional societies, Patient safety organizations, Accrediting agencies, Regulatory bodies, Law enforcement partners, Patient advocacy organizations.
• Oversee the Institute's communications strategy by supporting the dissemination of toolkits, educational materials, reports, and publications.

• Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, law, public health, health policy, or related field required. Additional advanced degree preferred.

• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
• Significant experience in healthcare, academic medicine, patient safety, healthcare quality, compliance, or nonprofit management.
• Experience developing and managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives or programs.
• Experience leading multimillion-dollar budgets and interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience with in or working closely with an academic medical center.
• Experience working with accreditation, regulatory, or patient safety organizations.
• Demonstrated success building programs or initiatives.
